OVERVIEW

This 6day Tanzania safari – Fly from Zanzibar will start with a morning flight to Arusha! You’ll get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to visit Tarangire, Serengeti, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro Crater national parks on this trip. In some of Northern Tanzania’s most diversified natural habitats, Lake Manyara National Park’s clear streams, verdant forests, and towering highlands provide a remarkable experience. Tarangire is renowned for its sizable giraffe herds as well as the enormous African elephant! The Serengeti has been dubbed one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders because of its breathtaking wildebeest migration and endless savannah plains. Additionally, the Serengeti is a great place for quiet reflection. The Ngorongoro Crater is the only complete caldera in the entire globe, and it is home to numerous large African animals and rare vegetation.

DAY 1: FLY ZANZIBAR TO SERONERA AIRSTRIP ( SERENGETI )

You will fly from Zanzibar Airport to Seronera Airstrip for a game drive. Upon your arrival at Seronera Airstrip you will meet with our driver guide who will be with you throughout the entire safari. The land stretches to the horizon in all directions, interrupted only by small dusty towns and earthy round Maasai huts. Once you’ve crossed into the Serengeti, you’ll be on a game drive as you make your way toward camp. The southern section of the park is covered with flat or gently rolling grasslands and occasionally dotted with rock kopjes, home to good populations resident game. Big cats love to have a good vantage point and the kopjes provide that. Massive of herds of wildebeest call this southern section home when they’re birthing before moving farther north. The Serengeti is home to a variety of landscapes, and what’s around you will depend on where you’re staying in the park.

DAY 2: SERENGETI ( FULL GAME DRIVE )

Early morning after breakfast, we depart with picnic lunch to Serengeti National Park for full game drive. The Serengeti is truly spectacular. It is famous for its vast open grasslands which allow for excellent sightings of wildlife. The Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest National Park and it is also one of the oldest ecosystems on earth. Its climate and vegetation have remained largely untouched for millions of years. Whilst the Serengeti boasts abundant wildlife, it is perhaps best known for the annual Great Migration and the presence of the big cats including lions, leopards and cheetahs as well as an incredible endless plain. Vast numbers of wildebeest; accompanied by large numbers of zebra and antelope move in an annual pattern, constantly seeking fresh grazing. The precise timing of the Migration is entirely dependent upon the rainfall patterns each year.

After Lunch and an extensive gamedrive, we head for our Tented partner lodges for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: CENTRAL SERENGETI TO KARATU

After early the morning breakfast today you will wake up early the morning game drive to spot the animals when they are more active and also to have a fantastic sunrise in front of you. The sunrise in the African savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences once you can have. In afternoon we will take a break to have a lunch in Serengeti national park. After lunch we will continue with game on route heading to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: NGORONGORO CRATER TO KARATU

After an early breakfast, descend to the crater floor for game drive(5 hours). You can expect to see lions, elephants, Zebras, Hippos, Flamingos, Jackals, Rhinos Antelopes and many birds. The birds seen here include eagle, vulture, and flamingos in the Crater Lake, stork, bats, giant vulture, sacred ibis, kori bustard, blacksmith plover, long necked heron and the cattle eagle. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater. With a 2hr drive left to your accommodation in Karatu, the day will come to a close. Freshly made delicious dinner is kept ready for you at your chosen accommodation. All these days of the safari, will have you quite tired and a good rest is essential. The next day you will begin the last leg of your safari.

DAY 5: TARANGIRE ( FULL DAY )

Your day will begin after a breakfast by about 8AM with a full day game drive in Tarangire National Park ahead of you. The national park is extremely famous and special for its diverse landscape and nine different vegetation zones. As you begin your game drive, you will be welcomed by the ancient and gigantic Baobab trees, which make even animals like the giraffe look tiny. The game drive goes on till about late afternoon and includes a small stop for a picnic lunch. The 3,000 Sq Kms park gets its name from the Tarangire river that flows through it. The river attracts a lot of diverse animals and you should be able to spot a lot of elephants, giraffe, lions, antelopes and zebras. If it’s your lucky day, you might be able to spot the tree climbing python and the long necked Gerek. The Tarangire National Park has the highest concentration of elephants, which offers a unique chance for you to observe interactions between elephant families. Don’t forget to capture this beautiful scenery with your camera ready at hand. Post the game drive, you will head back to your camp/lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you. Have a good night’s sleep for tomorrow’s adventure.

DAY 6 : TARANGIRE TO AIRPORT TRANSFER

The final day of your safari will begin as usual by 8:00 AM after a luscious breakfast. The destination for today is Arusha to Tarangire National Park where you will have a half day game drive. Tanzania’s third largest National park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe and zebra. By mid afternoon, you will have a lunch and game drive before heading to Kilimanjaro International Airport for flight back to Zanzibar Island.

Travel Tips

  • Bring Binoculars for better sighting
  • Bring appropriate clothes for Safari including, Safari Pants & Tshirts (Long and Short), Long sleeve shirts, Hats, Appropriate shoes for safari include full closed & Sandals, Sunglasses, Sun cream, Medicine and 
  • Don’t forget/bring Cameras to take pictures for memories
  • It is recommended to bring mosquito spray with high mint
  • A warm sweater and Jacket as the night can be chilly at high altitudes (Up to 5 C)
  • Blue and Black colors to avoid while in the park as they attract Tsetse liis
  • Being on a long Safari ups your chances of seeing the Big five
  • Visas are required when traveling to Tanzania, Foreigners may apply for a visa online in advance of travel
  • A passport valid for a minimum of six months beyond visa insurance and/or date of entry
  • Yellow fever vaccination is required for all travelers arriving from or having transited through countries where yellow fever is endemic
